Compliance Bowling Battle – 2016 Fetes the Winners!
28 April 2016
People of a serious profession of compliance officers, who gathered this non-working Saturday on 23rd of April at the Sportline club’s playground, turned into keen players and fans. They were absolutely happy with that!
That day the National Financial Market Council held Compliance Bowling Battle – 2016 Tournament among teams of financial and non-financial organizations.
The participants of the tournament, which was organized under the sponsorship of the Interfax Group, Interfax – Dun & Bradstreet and KPMG companies, were 28 teams, three of which performed in the name of regulators: Bank of Russia, the Federal Financial Monitoring Service and the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media.
Officers of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service became the winners of the Tournament, well ahead of the Rostelecom (2nd place) and Citibank (3rd place) teams.
The special award “For the will-to-win spirit” went to the compliance officers of the Vnesheconombank (Bank for Foreign Economic Activity), “The most skillful team” turned out to be the X5 Retail Group team, and the Alfa-Bank cheerleading squad earned “The most active fans” status.
Anastasiya Amelkina from Modulbank was recognized as “The highest performance participant” proving once again that women can successfully gain ground on men, and Igor Vengerov, Vice-President at VTB24, became the most productive “playing” top-manager.
Aleksandr Naumov (NP “NFMC”), Daniya Gainullina (“Interfax”), Nataliya Nikitenko (“Interfax – Dun & Bradstreet”) and Farrukh Abdullakhanov (KPMG) appeared as fair judges of the Tournament and distributed the 3 top places and 5 special awards.
“It is no secret that in these latter days the work of compliance officers is becoming more complicated and responsible. Officers of the compliance departments experience strong emotional, psychological and physical overloads, given that companies’ reputation depends on their performance. Sporting events are not only a chance of outdoor activity but also a way to demonstrate organizational skills and team spirit”, - said Aleksandr Naumov, Deputy Director at NFMC, noticing the high level of the Tournament-2016 organization.
“Some of the teams had been preparing for the competition, and they showed good results. We were especially amazed by the excellent demonstration of the women-participants of the Tournament, who vindicated their teams’ honour shoulder to shoulder with the men. It is noteworthy that the highest performance player turned out to be a delicate woman in the year of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Women’s Bowling Congress and Association”, - he pointed out.
“Our community of experts is constantly increasing. If there were 12 bank teams in the first two tournaments, then this year their number increased two times as many. In addition, non-financial organizations joined the Tournament. I hope, we will be able to organize even more representational tournament next year, and the participants will improve their results and show a fine play’, - added A. Naumov.
Anton Klyudt, “X-Compliance” Project Manager, reviewing the results of the Tournament, pointed out “the importance of today meeting of state bodies representatives and compliance departments of financial and non-financial organizations at the same playground”. “I hope this event with the participation and under the sponsorship of the Interfax Group will become an annual tradition. For my part, I thank the participants for the fair play and positive emotions”, - he told.
“We are glad that we both work and taking rest together. And, the tournament, for sure, is a wonderful way to get to know better”, - said Olga Rink, Director General at Interfax – Dun & Bradstreet.
“KPMG Company was pleased to support such significant event. KPMG strongly supports communication and experience exchange between the financial market parties”, - told Farrukh Abdullakhanov, Senior Manager at KPMG.
